SPE started out in Graz in 2017, where they met while studying at the KUG Jazz Institute. With roots in Brazil, Germany, Austria, and Sweden/Estonia, they are a pretty good example that “multi-kulti” is alive and kicking.
Their different backgrounds also shape the way they sound. They grew up listening to everything from rock, classical, and metal to funk, Brazilian music, and jazz, and over time, all of that naturally found its way into their own band sound. For them, making music together is really about curiosity, trust, and just having a great time playing and being on the road.
In 2027, they will celebrate their tenth anniversary as a band. Along the way, they have had the pleasure of performing at festivals and clubs across Austria, Sweden, Germany, and the Czech Republic—and they look forward to bringing their music to many more places in the years to come.
