More InformationSpring Again – Jazz Meets Chamber Music
With Spring Again, the ensemble High Fiddelity presents its new album: eleven richly varied original compositions by violinist and violist Natalia Brunke, arranged for jazz vocals and string quartet.
The boundaries between jazz, pop, and chamber music are fluid. What makes this project particularly distinctive is its instrumentation: voice and strings merge into a unique, finely balanced sound. The string players move seamlessly between chordal accompaniment and solo passages, expanding the sonic palette with atmospheric textures such as wind and raindrops. The singer interprets these vivid compositions, improvising and intensifying each mood with her versatile voice. The songs tell stories of encounters and new beginnings, of doubt and courage, of unhurried days and exhilarating journeys — and of the ever-returning, long-awaited spring.
“Natalia Brunke is a remarkable composer. The Munich-born artist has a finely tuned ear for the language of love — its pleasures as well as the rituals of separation. She finds compelling sounds for experimental pieces about snow-covered beaches on a North Sea island, and also for witty portrayals of everyday life.“
